Ok Belk.. You always find a way to win my heart. Whether with makeup, clothes of shoes.. You guys know the store Belk? If you don’t know, check their website: BELK.

What I think is funny when I go to Belk is that while I am looking at some clothes, checking the clearance part, or just chillin’, I look around and I realize that only mature to old people buy at Belk! I think I’ve never seen any 20 year old girl at Belk. I’m always the youngest one when I go there, haha. Again, that I have seen so far. I can be wrong.. Maybe I have the old mind and I automatically go to the mature people section or whatever hahaha. Why not? If I like it, I will buy it! No matter if it’s ‘meant to be for old people’ or not.

Anyway, enough with the blah blah blah. Like I was saying.. I was walking around Belk and I went to the shoes section, because they always have some good deals there. And damn!! The prices are even better than the last time I went there. There I was, with my zebra socks (and one of them has a hole on it, how cool is that?) walking barefoot trying some shoes I could find in my size.. I’m a size 9 – 9,5 so I was trying shoes with some women, having fun and talking (not really, but they were nice, so whatever). Then I say that Guess G Popstar was on sale.. But the price was way less then the last ‘on sale’ price tag. What? Well, the regular price of the shoes I bought was US$69,00. Then they had a price tag on sale for US$47,00 and I bought them for only US$16,58!

Ok, Renata.. Can you show us the shoes? I am curious!

Ok.. Ok… Don’t worry, here they are.

G by Guess Popstar

G by Guess Popstar sneakers feature a hidden wedge, on-trend studded detail and a cushioned comfort in sole.

  • 3.-in. heel
  • 0.75-in. platform
  • Lace up

They have different colors, there is the white, the black, and this beige-sand color that I fell in love with. I have three black boots, and even though I fell in love with the G by Guess Royse Sneaker, I had to be real with myself. I needed some light color shoes! So I tried the 9,5.. Too big, damn it! Then I saw the 8,5… Too small. Agh! I was so upset because I wanted those shoes! I even asked if they had the 9 in the stock but they didn’t. I searched around the whole shoes aisle for the 9.. Nothing. Well, what could I do? So I tried the Royse Sneaker again and I was sure that I was going to buy that one. But something made me look around the boxes again. And on top of boxes pile, there it was.. Like a miracle, standing there, staring at me.. The unknown (because not even the guy at Belk could explain that, it was not showing in the system!) G by Guess size 9. WHAT? I looked at the sky (ok, at the Belk’s wall, because I was inside the Belk, duh!) and said ‘THANK YOU, GOD! A TRUE MIRACLE’. Ok, A little bit dramatic but come one.. I swear that I had searched everywhere for the 9 and why was it on the top? Maybe someone gave up and returned the box, that’s the only explanation I have. Or maybe miracles do exist! 😉

There I was, walking with my zebra holed socks holding the box like it was the ring of ‘Lord of The Rings’. MY precious! I went to checkout and the guy, excited like me (not really, he was boring and was looking at me like I was crazy) told me ‘oh, ok.’ when I said I had found the right size. Haha!

US$16,58. And I have no clue why I had an extra 10% discount, so.. The sneakers less the 10% plus the taxes.. Basically I paid the US$16,58. The original price was US$69,00 so that was a good damn deal!

You may be thinking that those type os sneakers are not ‘in’ right now, not the right season and blah. But I will tell you guys.. SO WHAT? I love it! I’m not a ‘what-is-in-right-now?’ person, so I buy what I like and what makes me feel like… me.

And these details make the whole difference:

Isn’t it lovely? Isn’t it wonderful? (read it like the song! No.. really.. do this.)

I’m really happy with my purchase and I wish I could by all shoes at Belk. They are getting cheaper and cheaper everytime I go there! And good brands, what makes it even better! 🙂

So, if you can go to a Belk store, I would recommend it. Good prices for great shoes. And you can buy it online as well, they have other great options.

So that’s it for today! I’ll talk to you guys soon, bye!

Review: Sephora Contour Eye Pencil 12hr Waterproof

Hello, hello! Time to save money and stay beautiful! So come on and let’s get started!

SDC12260

This weekend I was having a romantic tiny trip with my boyfriend in Savannah, Georgia. And like a (healthy) shopaholic like me, I said that I wanted to go to the Shopping Mall. While I was walking and just having a good time, I saw the Sephora inside JCPenny. I had to go check the makeup products! It’s stronger than me, what can I do? Ok, walking around the pot of gold of makeup, I decided to check the Sephora Collection to see if they have something good and for a reasonable price. I saw the Sephora Contour Eye Pencil 12h Waterproof and decided to swatch a few colors on my hands. I didn’t want to buy the black because well, I have tons of black eyeliner so why buy another black? I had to decide between their several colors (35 total, on the website), and I picked two shades. But first, let’s see what Sephora tells us about their product:

What it is:
A contouring eye pencil for a big, beautiful look that lasts up to 12 hours.

What it does:
Enhance and enliven your eyes with the bold, long-wearing color of these eye pencils. The silky formula is resistant to water, heat, and humidity, ensuring up to 12 hours of smudge-less wear.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
– Parabens
– Sulfates
– Phthalates

Nothing special, but direct to the point. Which I like better than going around paragraphs just to read something they could have said in a few sentences. Right? Anyway, back to the colors I chose!

SDC12261Cappuccino and Sun Tan! 🙂

SDC12269

COLOR 08 Sun Tan – Copper. It’s a beautiful copper/bronze/gold color, with shimmer. I fell in love when I swatched it. I think it looks so beautiful, especially if you apply on top of a dar smokey eye! Can’t wait to try it!

SDC12276

COLOR 12 Cappuccino – Brown Glitter. Like the name says itself, it is a brown color with glitter in it. Which is different from the Sun Tan that is a shimmer color. I’m not sure if you guys can tell the difference from shimmer to glitter, so let’s see both colors together:

Sun light. I like to say that shimmer is like a giant glitter like, it has its glow, while glitter feels like there is flakes of glitter on top of a color. Confusing but I think with the picture you can tell the difference. The dark is glitter, while the golden eyeliner is a shimmer color. 🙂

Ok, I had chosen my favorite colors from the ones I had swatched it. It was time to pay. US$9,00 each one, I thought it was a good deal! The Sephora saleswoman gave me a reward card, but I don’t know if I have any points with this purchase. So, I bought it, went to have lunch (still at the shopping mall) and I decided to check the receipt from Sephora, because I always do that.  I saw that she charged me US$10,00 instead of the US$9,00 that was written on the display. Oh no, no, no! I had to go back! 2 dollars to me are like… Well, 2 dollars! I went back to Sephora and told the woman that she charged the wrong price. Then she looked at me and told me that all Sephora products (or eye pencils, I forgot) went up 1 dollar. I stared at her smiling, secretly thinking ‘Well, it’s not my fault, the price on the display says 9 dollars’. Then she talked with the manager and she gave me back my US$2,14! Score! What if I said ‘pff, nah, whatever’? I wouldn’t get back the money! 😉

Back to the eyeliner, they cost US$10,00 now, but I paid US$9,00 because of what I just wrote up there. They are smooth, easy to apply, don’t seem to smudge easily, but one thing: even though it is for the outside part of the eye, I tried to apply on my waterline.. FAIL. My eyes started to burn and water a little bit, my eyes got blurry because the formula is too greasy. Anyway, no wonder why they say it’s CONTOUR eye pencil. Do not try to apply on the waterline of your eyes! haha.

I think they are worth the price. Not too expensive and good quality. What do you think?

I’ll talk to you guys soon, bye!
